I am currently on the 19-20 cohort of CAMPUS, a year-long and city-wide independent study programme in curatorial, visual and cultural studies, based on collaborative knowledge production and innovative research practices hosted by Nottingham Contemporary. The programme looks at critical perdagogy and explores questions around alternative modes of education and how we learn and produce knowledge collectively. Responding to the disinvestment in creative subjects in education, the programme departs from the notion that critical thinking needs to find new forums and space for refuge.
CAMPUS invites a different faculty member to join the cohort every session. The CAMPUS faculty consists of Gurminder K. Bhambra, Tina Campt, Céline Condorelli, Elvira Dyangani Ose, Anselm Franke, Quinsy Gario, Nora Sternfeld and Carolina Rito.
Alongside the closed seminars and public lectures, guest artist Céline Condorelli supports the participants to deliver a collective curatorial project in response to the year-long conversations and reflections, which will take place in July 2020.
